The GMC document on Confidentiality has just been published and provides the latest authoritative guide to confidentiality and should be read by all GPs and practice managers.

A final word again on Decontamination. The transport service currently in place will continue until the end of the year. Current users of the new IHSS service will at some stage be asked to sign contracts, please let us know as we have as yet not seen any draft of the contract. It is our view that with the significant increase in cost of reprocessing and the additional cost of transport practices still using stand alone sterilisers should look at single use instruments and contact Mid Meds for details of cost.
