Dear Colleagues Please find the latest news from the LMC. Equitable Access GP Practices win tenders in West Kent & Medway
West Kent has announced, subject to final negotiation, that Fleet Healthcare was appointed the preferred bidder for the GP led Health Centre in the Gravesend/Northfleet area. Fleet Healthcare is a consortium of 7 local GP practices that intend to operate as a Community Interest Company. Their successful bid was made in conjunction with GPI and Circle. However Fleet healthcare will remain totally independent and this ensures that GPs remain in control of clinical services and patient care. Medway PCT also announced the appointment of GP practices as preferred bidders for their GP led health Centre and additional General Practices. Dulwich Medical Centre won the tender for the GP led Health Centre at canterbury Street in Gillingham (with satellite services to be provided at Hoo, Parkwood, Twydall and Hempstead) and a General Practice at Wayfield. The College Practice from Maidstone was announced the winner of the tender for two new General practices, one in Chatham and one in Luton, once again ensuring that GPs retain their place at the forefront of patient care in a primary care setting.
