Monday 8 May 2017

On 4 March GPs from across Kent and Medway gathered in Maidstone to attend a networking event organised by Kent LMC. The purpose of the day was to hear real examples of GPs working together and delivering general practice at scale and to hear the lessons - both positive and negative –  and the benefits of them.

Colleagues attending the event enjoyed the opportunity to hear and ask questions of Darren Tymens of the Richmond GP Alliance (RGPA), and Vish Ratnasuriya and Will Taylor from Our Health Partnership (OHP), about how general practice at scale is developing in their areas.

RGPA and OHP take slightly different approaches to working together. RGPA is a a federation providing 8 to 8, 7 days a week, general practice across Richmond. OHP is a super partnership seeking to strike a balance between maintaining the independence and autonomy of its constituent practices but, at the same time, seeking to take advantage the benefits of scale that a larger organisation can leverage.

You can find both presentations from the day elsewhere on this page.
