HM Courts & Tribunal Service Requests for Information (2012)

Kent LMC Office has been contacted by Practices expressing concern about requests for information from HM Courts and Tribunals attracting the small fee of £17.00.

After discussing this with our local office from HM Courts and Tribunals Service in Sutton we can confirm this is the correct fee for providing the information requested and our advice is to comply with the requests within 4 weeks of receipt.

However it is also possible to add reasonable expenses, for example 25p per sheet for photocopying, using box B on the TS 307 claim form which should accompany all requests.

Payment of expenses is discretionary and unreasonable requests are unlikely to be successful.
