Targeted Investment in Recruiting Returning Doctors Pilot Scheme
A new scheme have been launched by NHS England to test investment of recruitment and marketing support in GP practices which can evidence that they have historically encountered difficulty in recruiting GPs. The Targeted Investment in Recruiting Returning Doctors scheme also aims to attract GPs on the Induction and Refresher and Retained Doctor schemes to these practices by offering up to £10,000 in relocation and educational bursaries.
The pilot scheme offers individualised support to GP practices identified by their local NHS England teams to help fill practice vacant posts.
The scheme is part of NHS England’s commitment, set out in its General Practice Forward View, to recruit more doctors and target those areas where there are the most severe shortages.
The guidance and application form is available here: Targeted Investment in Recruiting Returning Doctors Pilot for 2016
Applications need to be returned to Mercedes.barclay@nhs.net and closing date is 30th June 2016.
