Job Summary:
Len Valley Practice is looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Trainee Dispenser to join our friendly dispensary team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in primary care and medicines management.
The successful applicant will receive full training and support within the dispensary and will work towards the Buttercups Level 2 Dispensing Assistant qualification. Previous dispensing experience is not essential; we are looking for someone who is organised, has good attention to detail, is keen to learn and has a professional and caring approach to patients.
Main duties of the role:
The successful applicant will support the dispensary team with the safe and accurate preparation and supply of medication to patients at our Lenham and Harrietsham sites.
Duties will include processing repeat prescriptions, preparing and labelling medication, assisting with stock management, preparing medication for collection and delivery, supporting MDS/blister pack preparation once trained and competent, and providing a friendly and professional service to patients.
The role will also involve working with GPs, pharmacists and other healthcare professionals, maintaining accurate records and following practice procedures and Standard Operating Procedures.
Full practical training and supervision will be provided, with the successful candidate’s responsibilities increasing as their knowledge, skills and confidence develop.
